Located in the suburbs of Palaio Psychiko, this project concerns the total reconstruction of two floor apartments, which are connected by an internal staircase and function as a maisonette of 290sqm.

 

The new floor plans are based on the better operation and unification of the spaces, aiming to fully cover the needs of the client, which was permeability and free access to all spaces.

The design of the first level was based on the formation of a large, airy space for living room, dining room and entrance area. The kitchen island sets the boundaries between the large open kitchen and dining room. In addition,on the first floor were designed a wc for guests, two bedrooms with a main bathroom and a very large master bedroom with its own en-suite bathroom and dressing room.

Moving to the second level from the internal staircase we find a spacious living room - social gathering space that joins an open kitchen space. On this level there is also a storage room, a large bathroom and an equally large guest bedroom. From this floor there is access to the outside private courtyard where the owners enjoy relaxing hours or meeting friends for a barbeque.

Regarding the palette of materials, it is oriented towards a simple American style. The element that was preserved is the wooden floors which were adapted to the current color palette. Earthy tones were chosen for fabrics, furniture and walls which, combined with the sun entering through the large openings, achieves a sense of harmony and well-being. The intense contrast of the palette is achieved with the dark colored frames and the black details in the lamps, metal surfaces, etc.
